FRICTION FEEDERS

The Vortex Auto Adjusting Friction Feeder eliminates many of the problems associated with current state of the art friction feeders. Being completely auto-adjusting for product thickness, the Vortex eliminates time-consuming and skill dependent operator set-up and testing for product changeover. The auto-adjust design results in a highly reliable and robust feeder that assures the best throughput and efficiency available.

Unlike competitor's friction feeders that use high friction forces to pull the product off the bottom of a high-pressure product stack, the Vortex uses a patent pending low-shear feeding technique that gently lifts the product into the feed and separation area. This means that the Vortex is not sensitive to the amount of product in the stack.

Also the Vortex reliably feeds and controls products that cannot be fed in friction feeders, without marking or damage. This includes softer paper products, embossed products and even some nested materials.

The Vortex Auto Adjusting Friction Feeder line has models that load low and discharge high and models that load high and discharge low, making it the perfect machine for collating and packaging operations.

The Vortex Plus Placing System positions products at speeds up to 20,000 pieces per hour at locational accuracies to within +/-2mm.

The Vortex Plus provides registration accuracy, placement accuracy, feed and placement reliability and overall fast speed.

Dual servo motors provide the control and speed needed for the most demanding applications.

The Vortex Plus is used to place items onto carrier pieces on vacuum tables or existing transports including webs and folders.

Unrivalled accuracy is attained because even flexible pieces are guided through the separation without any skew.

This is not possible with the pinch point design other manufacturers use. A pinch point can cause a high stress drag unevenly across a sample leading to unacceptable skew.

The Vortex Plus is also the only machine to fully control the product right onto the target document without 'letting go' until the product is located.
